NoCoPro
Proof-of-concept for a no-code-based & voice-controlled process digitization solution for the crafts sector
Start: 01/2026
End: 12/2026

The feasibility project is developing and evaluating a proof-of-concept for a voice-controlled, no-code process digitization tool that is specifically tailored to the needs of small craft businesses and can be used without any programming knowledge. The focus is on addressing key challenges such as a lack of process visibility, poor integration of existing tools, and a lack of business process automation.
The collaboration between the solar panel installation company PvFritz and the FZI enables a practice-oriented development process in which the FZI explores the technological possibilities of AI and PvFritz UG applies these directly to the operational realities of a solar installer.

The innovation of this project lies in the unique combination of speech recognition, AI-supported interpretation, and automated process modeling to translate spoken instructions into structured process models.

Technique-wise, the project investigates the interaction between speech recognition and interpretation using large language models, as well as the translation of spoken instructions into structured process models. These are then automatically visualized and can be reviewed and approved by the user. In the long term, the core innovation is to be integrated into existing systems such as ERP, CRM, or MS Office and expanded and marketed as a full-fledged platform solution for process digitization for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the skilled trades sector.

Role of the FZI
The FZI conducts a scientific evaluation of speech recognition models and large language models and selects suitable models for the project. It then optimizes these models using real-world speech data from the skilled trades sector. Finally, the FZI evaluates the performance of the speech recognition and process modeling.
