NoCoPro
Proof-of-concept for a no-code-based & voice-controlled process digitization solution for the crafts sector
In all areas of our contract research, from energy and water management to mobility and production, sustainability and practical relevance play a key role. We develop IT innovations and business models for companies that contribute to a climate-friendly, resource-efficient economy. We support customers in energy efficiency, flexibility, decarbonization, and sustainability processes through freely accessible offerings, including open-source solutions, digitalization, and standardization.
We develop innovative IT solutions for sustainable, sector-coupled energy systems for players in the energy industry. Our solutions are practical, interdisciplinary, and based on regulatory requirements, focusing on system integration, operational optimization, and flexibility utilization.
We develop AI methods and flexible robot capabilities for manufacturers and recyclers in the circular economy. This enables them to automatically manufacture complex products and break them down into their components again. This saves raw materials.
Using digital twins, we develop intelligent methods and tools for the construction industry to increase the energy efficiency of buildings through data-driven planning, implementation, use, and renovation in existing and new buildings.
Together with you, we develop practical solutions at the interface between digitalization and sustainability — from concrete prototypes and optimized processes to customized sustainability strategies and measurable sustainability successes. We don’t deal with dry theory, but rather with results and added value that you can experience and test first-hand: in our FZI Living Lab Smart Energy at the FZI House of Living Labs and our Smart East real-world laboratory.

Hybrid Building Twins for Increased Energy Efficiency
We are your ideal research partner for application-oriented and sustainable technologies in sustainable engineering and energy. Together with partners from industry, administration, and science, we develop concepts, systems, and strategies and test them prototypically hand in hand. With interdisciplinary expertise and a clear focus on practical relevance, we offer solutions for the technical integration of intelligent technologies into energy and environmental systems.
Our services range from modeling, simulation, and optimization of plant operations to connecting relevant markets, considering the energy industry’s regulatory requirements. Strategic consulting on the path to greater sustainability is just as much a part of our core competencies as application-oriented research services. Building on extensive experience from real-world laboratory projects, we develop tailor-made solutions precisely tailored to our partners’ specific challenges and goals.
Sustainability requires cooperation. That is why we are involved in numerous regional, national, and international networks, where we actively seek to exchange experiences among experts and help shape the framework conditions for sustainable and digital transformation across industries.
Founded as an FZI spin-off, the company is now firmly established in the market and is making a significant contribution to the energy transition. At the FZI, founder Dr.-Ing. Birger Becker worked for many years on practical projects related to decentralized energy systems, smart grids, and intelligent building automation. In the process, he realized there is often a gap between research and practice, especially at the intersection of computer science and electrical engineering. After completing his doctorate, Birger Becker decided to bridge this gap and founded EnQS GmbH.
Areas of expertise: Energy generation, distribution, and storage / Energy flexibility / Smart metering
