Joshua Ransiek studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in Information and Automation. His areas of focus were control engineering, signal processing, and satellite navigation. He wrote his master’s thesis, titled “Robust Reinforcement Learning Methods for Parameterizing a Nonlinear Model of a Permanent Magnet-Excited Synchronous Motor,” at the FZI.
Since February 2022, he has been employed as a research assistant in the Electrical Systems and Microsystems (ESS-ESM) department of the Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering (ESS) division at FZI.
He is pursuing his Ph.D. at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology—Institute for Information Processing Technology (ITIV)—under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eric Sax on the topic of virtual testing and virtual validation of automated driving systems, with a particular focus on traffic simulation.
