Career

Prof. Dr. Oliver Bringmann studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe and received his PhD from the University of Tübingen in 2001. He then worked at the FZI until 2012, most recently as head of the “Intelligent Systems and Production Engineering” Research Division. Since his appointment to the University of Tübingen, he has been head of the Chair for Embedded Systems and spokesman for the Department of Computer Science. In 2021, he returned to the FZI as a Scientific Director.

His research focuses on the design, analysis, and verification of distributed embedded systems and their applications in the automotive, avionics, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and medical technology domains. Growing safety requirements for autonomous systems as well as the development of efficient stress tests play a central role.

The research focus is on:
