Our organizational structure reflects our independence and scientific excellence
The FZI Research Center for Information Technology is a non-profit foundation under civil law with headquarters in Karlsruhe and a branch office in Berlin.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the FZI’s highest statutory body. Experts from the worlds of politics, science and industry define the principles of its work and advise the FZI on its long-term strategic direction, the effective design of technology transfer, and safeguarding scientific excellence.

The Board of Executive Director consists of two part-time scientific members and one full-time Executive Director.

Board of Scientific Directors
The members of the Board of Scientific Directors from the disciplines of computer science, economics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and law support our research groups with their professional scientific excellence split into a total of six research divisions, each headed by division managers. The Board of Scientific Directors advises the Board of Executive Directors on the main features of internal scientific and research policy as well as on research, expansion and financial planning, as well as on all issues concerning the smooth interaction of the research divisions and their effective support in their activities.

Capital Office
Through the Capital Office, the FZI is in close exchange with federal policymakers, the federal administration and associations. In Berlin, the Capital Office is represented by Ada Streb.
