Career

From 1992 to 1997, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sören Hohmann studied electrical engineering with a specialization in control engineering at the TU Braunschweig, the TH Karlsruhe and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Électricité et de Mécanique Nancy. In 2002, he received his PhD with a thesis on nonlinear discrete-time control. He then worked at BMW, where he was responsible for the advance development of braking systems and the series development of integrated vehicle dynamics (ICM) control systems and sensors. Most recently, he was head of advance and series development for active safety systems.

Since fall 2010, Sören Hohmann has headed the Institute of Control Systems. As of April 2015, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the FZI Research Center for Information Technology.
