Anna Soßdorf has been a research associate at the FZI in the Information Process Engineering department and part of the House of Participation team since 2023. Previously (2019-2022), she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Social Sciences and as a coordinator at the Düsseldorf Institute for Internet and Democracy (DIID) at the University of Düsseldorf in teaching and research. In 2015, she completed her doctorate on the political participation of young people in the field of communication sciences at the University of Düsseldorf.

Her research focuses on (digital) participation, youth participation, digital skills, citizen science and science communication. Her most recent projects include a citizen science project that she carried out with Fridays for Future (FfF) activists as co-researchers on the question of decision-making mechanisms at FfF (2020-2021). Another project for the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE) deals with the question of how young people can be better involved in site selection procedures (2022-2023).

She has also been a freelance trainer, consultant and researcher for digital and political education, citizen science and science communication since 2015. Anna Soßdorf is active in various citizen science networks and is co-author of the recently published white paper Citizen Science Strategy 2030 for Germany.
