Jochen Martin was student of Economathematics at University of Karlsruhe from October 2003 until March 2009 with mathematical main subject Stochastic. He wrote his diploma thesis with the title "Analysis of the effectiveness of Out-of-Model-Hedges on Barrier Options" in cooperation with the DZ-Bank at the Chair of Financial Engineering and Derivatives.

Since June 2009 Jochen Martin is working at Research Center for Information Technology (FZI) as research scientist. His thesis are in charge of Prof. Weinhardt (Institute of Information Systems and Management). He is mainly involved in project CoFiPot in cooperation with the Bayer AG. The focus of this project is the futher development of the internal finance portal.
