Ariane Höck (M.Sc.)

Research Scientist


Ariane Höck studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and completed her master's degree in 2019. After focusing on energy economics during her undergraduate studies, the major topics of her master studies were decentralized generation, smart grids, building energy technologies, and energy management systems. In her master's thesis "Evaluation of Support Vector-based Flexibility Modeling of Distributed Energy Resources" she investigated the suitability of a specific machine-learning method for modeling the flexibility of different distributed energy generators.

During her studies she worked in the field of testing of energy management systems - first as a research assistant at FZI, later as a working student at a spin-off of FZI. She gained further practical experience during internships in Germany and the USA.

Since October 2019, Ariane Höck has been working as a research assistant at FZI in the research area Intelligent Systems and Production Engineering (ISPE), where she focuses on intelligent energy management systems for buildings.
